The underground accommodation maintains a constant comfortable temperature of 22-24°C year-round, providing relief from the desert extremes above ground. In summer, when surface temperatures can exceed 40°C, our guests enjoy naturally cool conditions without air conditioning. In winter, the underground stays warm without heating.
Our facilities include separate male and female dormitory areas with bunk beds, clean shared bathroom facilities with hot showers, a common room for group gatherings, and a fully equipped kitchen for self-catering. Bedding is provided, and guests only need to bring personal items and towels.
The underground experience gives guests an authentic taste of how Coober Pedy residents have lived for over a century.
