Pair of triplet opal stud earrings in sterling silver, each with a 7mm x 5mm oval opal in a bezel setting topped with a crossover detail. Every opal is hand-selected and unique.

These stud earrings are set with triplet opal, cut as a 7mm x 5mm oval. A triplet is made from a thin slice of natural opal, backed with a dark layer and capped with clear quartz or glass. The cap gives the stone a domed, glossy surface and protects the thin opal beneath. Triplets are known for vivid play of colour, with flashes of colour that shift as the stone moves in the light.

Every opal is hand-selected and unique, so the colours and pattern of the stones you receive will differ from those in the photo. The photo shows the design of the earrings only.

Each oval stone sits in a smooth bezel setting in sterling silver, with the metal wrapping fully around the edge of the opal. A crossed pair of silver bands curves over the top of each setting, adding a decorative detail. The earrings are sold as a pair and come from Umoona Opal Mine & Museum in Coober Pedy.
