This sterling silver pendant carries a 5 mm round triplet opal at the base of a sleek, twisting drop. The stone sits in a smooth, rimmed setting that frames its round outline, and above it the metal curves into flowing loops that lead up to an open bail at the top.

A triplet opal is made from a thin slice of natural opal that is backed with a dark base and capped with a clear layer of quartz or glass. The cap gives the stone a glossy, domed finish and protects the delicate opal layer beneath.
