This pendant pairs an oval triplet opal, 7mm x 5mm, with a graceful teardrop-shaped surround in gold plated sterling silver. The stone is a smooth, domed oval held in a bezel setting. A fine, open teardrop frame sits around it, and a polished bail at the top lets the pendant hang from a chain.

A triplet opal is made from a thin slice of natural opal, backed with a base layer and capped with clear quartz or glass. The cap gives the stone a glossy, domed surface and protects the thin opal layer beneath. Triplets are known for their lively play of colour, with flashes that shift as the pendant moves in the light.
