Triplet opal pendant with a 7mm x 5mm pear-shaped stone in a bezel setting of gold plated sterling silver. Every opal is hand-selected, so yours will differ from the photo.

This pendant pairs a pear-shaped triplet opal with a graceful gold plated sterling silver setting. The stone measures 7mm x 5mm and sits in a smooth bezel, with the metal wrapping around its edge to hold it securely. Above the stone, a small curling leaf-like flourish in the metalwork leads to a small round clear stone and a polished bail.

A triplet opal is made from a thin slice of natural opal, backed with a dark layer and capped with clear quartz or glass. The cap gives the thin opal protection and a domed, glossy finish. Opal of this kind is known for its play of colour, flashes of spectral colour that shift and change as the stone moves in the light.
