Triplet opal pendant with a 6mm x 4mm pear-shaped stone in a bezel setting, in gold plated sterling silver. Every opal is hand-selected, so yours will differ from the photo.

This pendant features a pear-shaped triplet opal, 6mm x 4mm, held in a smooth bezel setting. The fine metal rim follows the teardrop outline of the stone and holds it securely. It is made in gold plated sterling silver. A small ring joins the setting to a neat bail at the top, so the pendant hangs gracefully from a chain.

A triplet opal is made from a thin slice of natural opal, backed with a dark base and capped with a clear layer of quartz or glass. The cap protects the opal and gives the stone a smooth, glassy surface. Triplets are known for showing flashes of spectral colour that shift as the light moves across the stone.
