These oval stud earrings are each set with a triplet opal measuring 8mm x 6mm. A triplet is made from a thin slice of natural opal backed with a dark base and capped with a clear layer of quartz or glass. The cap protects the opal and gives the stone a smooth, glossy surface. Triplets are known for showing bright flashes of play of colour that shift as the light and viewing angle change.

Every opal is hand-selected and unique. The colours and pattern of the stones you receive will differ from those in the photo, which shows the design of the earrings only.
