This pendant pairs an oval triplet opal, 7mm x 5mm, with a graceful open teardrop frame in sterling silver. The opal sits in a smooth, rim-style setting at the centre of the frame, with small banded details on either side that hold it neatly in place. A simple bail at the top lets the pendant hang freely from a chain.

A triplet opal is made from a thin slice of natural opal, backed with a dark base and capped with a layer of clear quartz or glass. The cap protects the opal and gives the stone a smooth, glassy dome. Triplets are known for lively play of colour, with flashes that shift as the stone catches the light. A triplet is not a solid opal, and it is best kept away from soaking and prolonged water.
