This pendant features a 9mm x 7mm oval triplet opal, a smooth domed-looking oval stone held in a slim, polished sterling silver bezel. A small jump ring connects the stone's setting to a plain, rounded bail, so the pendant hangs neatly from a chain of your choice.

A triplet opal is made from a thin slice of natural precious opal, backed with a dark base layer and capped with a clear layer of quartz or glass. The cap protects the thin opal and gives the stone a glossy, domed finish, while the dark backing helps the play of colour stand out. Triplets are known for vivid flashes of colour that shift as the stone moves in the light.
