Oval triplet opal pendant in sterling silver with a swept bezel setting and fixed bail. Stone size 8mm x 6mm. Every opal is hand-selected, so yours will differ from the photo.

This pendant pairs an oval triplet opal, 8mm x 6mm, with a flowing sterling silver setting. A triplet is made from a thin slice of precious opal backed with a dark base layer and capped with a clear layer of quartz or glass. The cap protects the opal and deepens its colour. Triplet opals are known for lively play of colour, with flashes that shift as the stone moves in the light. Because a triplet is a layered stone, it is not a solid opal.

The oval stone sits in a smooth bezel setting in sterling silver. A curved sweep of metal wraps around one side of the stone, and the pendant finishes in a polished, tapered bail at the top so it hangs neatly from a chain.
