This pendant pairs a small oval triplet opal with a simple, polished sterling silver setting. A triplet is made from a thin slice of natural opal, backed with a dark base and capped with a layer of clear quartz or glass. The cap protects the opal and gives the stone a smooth, glossy dome. Triplets are known for bright play of colour, where flashes of colour move across the surface as the light changes. The stone measures 8mm x 6mm.
