This pendant pairs an oval triplet opal, 8mm x 6mm, with a sterling silver setting. A triplet is made from a thin slice of natural opal, backed with a dark layer and capped with clear quartz or glass. The cap protects the opal and deepens its colour. Triplets are known for a vivid play of colour that flashes as the light moves across the stone.
