Oval triplet opal pendant in sterling silver with a bezel setting and a simple bail. Stone size 7mm x 5mm. Each opal is hand-selected, so yours will differ from the photo.

This pendant pairs an oval triplet opal with a sleek sterling silver setting. The 7mm x 5mm stone is set in a smooth bezel, a narrow metal rim that wraps around the edge of the opal and holds it securely. A simple, polished bail at the top lets the pendant hang from a chain of your choice.

A triplet opal is made from a very thin slice of precious opal, backed with a dark layer and capped with a clear dome of quartz or glass. The cap magnifies the stone and protects the thin opal layer beneath it. Triplets are known for bright flashes of play of colour set against a dark background. This is not a solid opal.

Every opal we use is hand-selected and unique, so the colours and pattern of the stone you receive will differ from the one in the photo. The photo shows the design: the oval outline, the bezel and the bail. This piece comes from Umoona Opal Mine & Museum in Coober Pedy, South Australia.
