This sterling silver pendant is set with an oval triplet opal measuring 7mm x 5mm. A triplet is made from a thin slice of natural opal, backed with a dark layer and capped with clear quartz or glass. The cap protects the opal and deepens its play of colour, which is why triplets are known for their vivid, shifting flashes of colour.
