This oval pendant is set with a triplet opal measuring 7mm x 5mm, cut as a smooth, domed cabochon. A triplet is made from a thin slice of natural opal backed with a dark base layer and capped with clear quartz or glass. The cap adds protection and depth, and it lets the opal's play of colour show as shifting flashes when the stone moves in the light.
