This pendant features an oval triplet opal, 8mm x 6mm, set in a smooth bezel of gold plated sterling silver. The bezel wraps the full outline of the stone, framing the domed oval shape, and the pendant hangs from a decorative textured bail.

A triplet is made from a thin slice of natural opal that is backed and then capped with clear quartz or glass. The cap gives the stone a glossy, domed surface and adds durability, and triplets are known for showing flashes of play of colour that shift as the light and viewing angle change.
