This pendant pairs an oval triplet opal, 8mm x 6mm, with a flowing gold plated sterling silver setting. The stone sits in a smooth, rounded bezel-style mount, and a polished ribbon of metal curls around it in an open teardrop loop, leading up to a neat bail at the top.

A triplet opal is a thin slice of natural opal backed with a dark base and capped with clear quartz or glass. The cap protects the opal and gives a domed, glossy surface, and this construction is known for showing vivid play of colour against its dark backing. It is not a solid opal.
