This pendant pairs an oval triplet opal (8mm x 6mm) with a graceful, modern setting. A triplet is made from a thin slice of natural opal, backed with a dark base and capped with a clear dome of quartz or glass. The layers are bonded together, which protects the opal and deepens its colour. Triplets are known for flashes of spectral colour that shift as the stone moves in the light.
