Oval triplet opal pendant with a 6mm x 4mm stone in a smooth bezel setting of gold plated sterling silver. Every opal is hand-selected, so yours will differ from the photo.

This pendant features an oval triplet opal, 6mm x 4mm, held in a smooth bezel setting. The metal rim wraps fully around the stone and gives it a clean, polished outline. A simple bail at the top lets the pendant hang neatly from a chain.

A triplet opal is made from a thin slice of natural opal, backed with a dark base and capped with a layer of clear quartz or glass. The dark backing is designed to show off the opal's play of colour, and the clear cap protects the thin slice and gives a domed, glossy finish. Triplets are known for bright flashes of colour that move as the stone catches the light. Because it is a triplet, it is not a solid opal.

Every opal we set is hand-selected and unique, so the colours and pattern of your stone will differ from the one in the photo. The photo shows the design of the pendant: the oval shape, the bezel setting and the bail. The pendant is made in gold plated sterling silver and comes from Umoona Opal Mine & Museum in Coober Pedy.
