Pair of triplet opal earrings with 7mm x 5mm oval stones set in sterling silver, each with a ribbed drop below the setting. Every opal is hand-selected and unique.

These earrings each feature an oval triplet opal, 7mm x 5mm, framed in a smooth bezel-style setting of sterling silver. Below the stone, a small link joins the setting to a ribbed, fluted drop, which adds some shape and detail to the polished metalwork.

A triplet opal is made from a thin slice of natural opal, backed with a dark base and capped with a layer of clear quartz or glass. The cap gives the opal a domed, glossy surface and protects the thin slice underneath. Triplets are known for bright flashes of colour that move as the light changes, and they are a lightweight, practical choice for everyday earrings. A triplet is not a solid opal.
