These drop earrings pair two oval triplet opals, each 9mm x 7mm, in polished sterling silver. A triplet is made from a thin slice of precious opal, backed with a dark base and capped with a clear layer of quartz or glass. The cap protects the opal and gives the stone a smooth, glassy dome. Triplet opals are known for vivid play of colour, with flashes that shift as the stone moves in the light.

Every opal is hand-selected at Umoona Opal Mine & Museum and is unique. The colours and pattern of the stones you receive will differ from those in the photo, which shows the design of the earrings only.

Each oval stone sits in a smooth bezel setting, where a thin silver rim wraps the edge of the opal. A small ring links the stone to a rounded, elongated silver top, which finishes the drop. The earrings hang from stud-style posts.
