These drop earrings feature a matched pair of oval triplet opals, each measuring 8mm x 6mm. A triplet is made from a thin slice of natural opal with a dark backing beneath it and a clear cap of quartz or glass on top. The backing helps deepen the colour, and the cap protects the delicate opal layer. Triplets are known for their vivid play of colour, with flashes that shift as the stone moves in the light.

Every opal we use is hand-selected and unique, so the colours and pattern of your earrings will differ from the stones shown in the photo. The photo shows the design only: the shape of the setting and the style of the metalwork.

Each oval stone sits in a smooth bezel, a polished sterling silver rim that wraps around the edge of the stone. A small loop at the top connects the bezel to a slender hook fitting, so the earrings hang freely and move gently when worn.
