These drop earrings pair a neat oval triplet opal with a polished sterling silver setting. Each stone measures 7mm x 5mm and hangs below a smooth, rounded stud top, so the opal sits gently below the ear.

A triplet opal is made from a thin slice of natural opal backed with a dark base and capped with a clear layer of quartz or glass. The cap protects the opal and deepens its colour. Triplets are known for bright flashes of play of colour that shift as the light and the angle change. They are not solid opal.

Every opal we set is hand-selected and unique, so the colours and pattern of your stones will differ from the photo. The photo shows the design only: an oval stone held in a slim bezel setting, with a small link joining it to the polished teardrop-shaped stud top.
