These drop earrings pair a small oval triplet opal with a slim sterling silver drop. Each stone is set in a smooth bezel-style setting that follows the oval outline, and hangs from a small link on a fine straight bar. The bar is topped with a round ball stud. The result is a light, neat earring that sits gracefully below the ear. Both stones are 6mm x 4mm.

A triplet opal is made from a thin slice of natural opal, backed with a dark base and capped with a clear layer of quartz or glass. The cap protects the opal and gives a domed, glossy finish. Triplets are known for bright flashes of colour that move as the stone catches the light.
