Koala pendant in sterling silver set with a hand-selected 6mm x 4mm oval triplet opal. Every opal is unique, so its colours and pattern will differ from the photo.

This little koala pendant is crafted in sterling silver, with a polished finish, a rounded face with ears and defined arms and legs. The koala sits with an oval opal at its side, held in a smooth rim setting, as though it were cradling its own piece of the outback.

The stone is a 6mm x 4mm oval triplet opal. A triplet is made from a thin slice of precious opal, backed with a dark layer and capped with a clear dome of quartz or glass. This construction is known for showing lively flashes of colour against a dark background, and the cap helps protect the thin opal layer. Because it is a triplet, it is not a solid opal.
