Kangaroo pendant in sterling silver set with a 5mm round triplet opal. Each opal is hand-selected and unique, so its colours and pattern will differ from the photo.

This sterling silver pendant is shaped as a kangaroo with its tail curving up and out, and a small round opal held at its feet like a ball. The silver is polished and smooth, with a simple bail at the top so the pendant hangs neatly from a chain.

The 5mm round stone is a triplet opal. A triplet is a thin slice of natural opal backed with a dark base and capped with a clear layer of quartz or glass. The cap protects the opal and deepens the colour. Triplets are known for bright play of colour, where flashes of blue, green, orange and red shift as the stone moves in the light.

Every opal is hand-selected and unique, so the colours and pattern of the stone you receive will differ from the one in the photo. This piece comes from Umoona Opal Mine & Museum in Coober Pedy, South Australia.
