Sterling silver open heart pendant set with a hand-selected 6mm x 4mm oval triplet opal. Each opal is unique, so its colours and pattern will differ from the photo.

This sterling silver pendant has an open heart outline with a small oval triplet opal set within the curve at the base of the heart. A bezel setting wraps the stone in a smooth band of metal, and a looped bail with a small scroll detail sits at the top so the pendant can hang from a chain. The stone size is 6mm x 4mm.

A triplet opal is made from a very thin slice of natural opal. It is backed with a dark base layer and capped with clear quartz or glass. The cap protects the thin opal and magnifies the play of colour. Triplets are known for lively flashes of colour against a dark background. They are not solid opal.
