Heart-shaped drop earrings set with 6mm x 4mm oval triplet opals in gold plated sterling silver. Sold as a pair; each opal is hand-selected and unique.

These heart drop earrings pair an open heart outline with an oval triplet opal (6mm x 4mm) set inside the curve of the heart. A second, smaller heart line follows the inner edge of the frame, giving the design a light, layered look. Each earring hangs from a small ring at the top of the heart on a hook-style ear wire.

A triplet opal is a thin slice of natural opal backed with a dark base and capped with a clear layer of quartz or glass. The cap protects the thin opal and the backing helps bring out the flashes of colour that opal is loved for. Triplets are known for lively play of colour at an accessible size, and they suit everyday wear.

Every opal is hand-selected at Umoona Opal Mine & Museum and is unique, so the colours and pattern of the stones you receive will differ from those in the photo. The heart setting is made in gold plated sterling silver.
