These drop earrings pair two oval triplet opals, each measuring 8mm x 6mm, set in smooth sterling silver bezels. A rounded teardrop-shaped top sits above each stone and carries the earring post, with a small link joining it to the opal so the stone hangs neatly below.

A triplet opal is a thin slice of natural opal backed with a dark base and capped with a clear layer of quartz or glass. The cap protects the thin opal and gives a glossy, domed finish, while the dark backing lets the play of colour show with depth. Triplets are known for bright flashes of colour that move as the light and angle change. They are not solid opal.
