Pair of triplet opal drop earrings with 7mm x 5mm oval stones in sterling silver, on stud-style tops with a long drop. Each opal is hand-selected and unique.

These drop earrings are sold as a pair and feature a triplet opal in each, set in sterling silver. A triplet is made from a thin slice of natural opal, backed with a dark layer and capped with clear quartz or glass. The cap protects the opal and deepens its colour, and triplets are known for bright, lively flashes of play of colour at an accessible level of care and cost.

Each stone measures 7mm x 5mm and is set in a smooth oval outline. Every opal is hand-selected and unique, so the colours and pattern of the stones you receive will differ from those in the photo.

The design is simple and elegant. A polished silver ball sits at the top of each earring, with a slender bar hanging below it. At the bottom, the oval opal is held in a closed setting with a crossed, ribbon-like detail of silver over the top of the stone. The earrings move gently when worn. They come from Umoona Opal Mine & Museum in Coober Pedy.
