These drop earrings each feature an 8mm x 6mm oval triplet opal, framed in a smooth, narrow bezel that follows the outline of the stone. A triplet is made from a thin slice of precious opal, backed with a dark base and capped with a clear layer of quartz or glass. The cap gives the opal a glossy, domed look and adds protection, while the layers bring out the flashes of colour opal is loved for.
