Bird-shaped sterling silver pendant set with a 6mm x 3mm triplet opal. Every opal is hand-selected and unique, so the stone will differ from the photo.

This little sterling silver pendant is shaped as a bird with a raised crest, swept tail feathers and a small perch-like foot. A narrow, pointed-oval opal measuring 6mm x 3mm is set into the body, and the silver around it is shaped to suggest the bird's wing and plumage. A bail at the top lets the pendant hang from a chain of your choice.

The opal is a triplet. A triplet is a thin slice of natural opal backed with a dark base and capped with a clear layer of quartz or glass. The cap protects the thin opal and can add depth to its play of colour. Triplets are known for flashes of colour that move and shift as the stone catches the light, and they are a lightweight, practical choice for everyday wear.
