Teardrop-shaped sterling silver pendant set with a hand-selected 6mm x 4mm oval solid opal. Each opal is unique, so colours and pattern will differ from the photo.

This pendant pairs a small oval solid opal with a clean, open teardrop frame in sterling silver. The opal sits low in the base of the teardrop, held in a smooth bezel setting that wraps the edge of the stone, while the polished outline above it leaves the design light and open. A shaped bail at the top lets the pendant hang neatly from a chain.

Solid opal is cut from a single piece of natural opal, so the colour runs right through the stone rather than being a thin layer. It is known for play of colour, the shifting flashes of spectral colour that move as the stone is tilted in the light.

Every opal in this style is hand-selected at Umoona Opal Mine & Museum in Coober Pedy, and every stone is unique. The colours, pattern and brightness of the opal you receive will differ from the one in the photo, which shows the design of the pendant only.
