Pair of drop earrings set with hand-selected 7mm x 5mm solid opals in gold plated sterling silver. Each opal is unique, so colours and pattern will differ from the photo.

These drop earrings each feature a teardrop-shaped solid opal, a stone cut from a single piece of natural opal rather than layered or backed. Solid opal is known for its play of colour, the shifting flashes of spectral colour that move across the surface as the stone is turned in the light. Each opal measures 7mm x 5mm.

Every opal in this style is hand-selected at Umoona Opal Mine & Museum, so each one is unique. The colours, pattern and brightness of your opals will differ from those in the photo, which shows the design of the earrings only.

Each pear-shaped stone sits in a smooth bezel setting, with the metal wrapping the edge of the opal to hold it securely. A small loop joins the bezel to a slender straight bar, which hangs from a round ball stud at the top of the ear. The result is a simple, lightweight drop that moves gently as you wear it. The earrings are made in gold plated sterling silver.
