These drop earrings pair a bezel-set oval solid opal with a clean, modern open teardrop frame in sterling silver. The opal sits low inside the teardrop, held by a smooth polished bezel, so the stone is the focus of the design. The stone size is 6mm x 4mm.

A solid opal is cut from a single piece of natural opal, with no backing or cap added. Solid opals are known for play of colour, where flashes of spectrum colour shift and change as the stone moves in the light. Every opal is hand-selected and unique, so the colours and pattern of the stones you receive will differ from those in the photo.

The teardrop hangs from a slim polished bar, joined by small jump rings that let the drop move gently when worn. The bar attaches to a round ball stud at the ear. The earrings are sold as a pair and come from Umoona Opal Mine & Museum in Coober Pedy.
