Pair of solid opal stud earrings with 6mm x 4mm oval stones in four-claw settings, within a pointed oval sterling silver surround. Each opal is hand-selected and unique.

These stud earrings are each set with an oval solid opal cabochon measuring 6mm x 4mm. Solid opal is a natural stone cut from a single piece of opal, so the colour runs all the way through it rather than being a thin layer on a backing. It is known for play of colour, the flashes of spectrum colour that shift and move as the stone is turned in the light.

Every opal is hand-selected and unique, so the colours, pattern and brightness of the stones you receive will differ from those in the photo. The photo shows the design of the earrings only.

Each oval stone is held by four slender claws in a sterling silver setting. A polished, pointed-oval surround frames the stone, giving the earrings a leaf-like outline that suits everyday wear. They are sold as a pair, and come from Umoona Opal Mine & Museum in Coober Pedy.
