These stud earrings feature a solid opal in an oval shape, measuring 6mm x 4mm. Solid opal is a single piece of natural opal, cut and polished from one stone with no backing layer. It is known for play of colour, where flashes of spectral colour shift and move as the stone is turned in the light.

Every opal is hand-selected and unique, so the colours, pattern and brightness of the stones you receive will differ from those in the photo. The photo shows the design of the earrings, not the exact opals.

Each oval stone is held by four slender claws inside an open oval frame of sterling silver. A polished ribbon of metal sweeps around the stone and curls over the top edge, giving the design a graceful, flowing outline. They are made as a matching pair of studs and come from Umoona Opal Mine & Museum in Coober Pedy.
