This pendant pairs a solid opal with a clean, simple sterling silver setting. The stone is cut as a smooth, domed oval, measuring 9mm x 7mm, and held in a bezel setting: a thin silver rim that wraps around the edge of the opal and shows off its shape.

Solid opal is cut from a single piece of natural opal, so the colour runs right through the stone. It is known for its play of colour, where flashes of spectral colour move and shift as the stone is tilted in the light.
