Oval bezel-set solid opal pendant, stone size 8mm x 6mm, in gold plated sterling silver with a sweeping ribbon bail. Each opal is hand-selected, so yours will differ from the photo.

This pendant pairs an oval solid opal cabochon, 8mm x 6mm, with a flowing gold plated sterling silver mount. Solid opal is a single piece of natural opal from top to bottom, with no backing or cap. It is known for its play of colour, where flashes of spectral colour shift and move as the stone is turned in the light.

Every opal we set is hand-selected and unique, so the colours, pattern and brightness of the stone you receive will differ from the one in the photo. The photo shows the design of the pendant only.

The oval stone sits in a smooth bezel, a thin band of metal that wraps around the edge of the opal and holds it securely. Above it, a polished ribbon-like bail sweeps down and curls around the stone, with a small decorative flourish at the join. The open bail lets the pendant slide onto a chain of your choice. This pendant comes from Umoona Opal Mine & Museum in Coober Pedy, South Australia.
