Oval solid opal pendant, 8mm x 6mm, in a bezel setting of gold plated sterling silver. Every opal is hand-selected, so your stone will differ from the photo.

This simple oval pendant is set with a solid opal measuring 8mm x 6mm. Solid opal is cut from a single piece of natural opal, with no backing layer or cap, and is known for the flashes of spectral colour, called play of colour, that shift and change as the stone moves in the light.

Every opal we use is hand-selected and unique. The stone you receive will not be the one in the photo, so its colours, pattern and brightness will differ. The photo shows the design of the pendant: the oval outline, the setting and the bail.

The opal is held in a bezel setting, where a smooth metal rim wraps around the edge of the stone. A small bail at the top lets the pendant hang from a chain of your choice. The piece is made in gold plated sterling silver and comes from Umoona Opal Mine & Museum in Coober Pedy, South Australia.
