This pendant pairs a 7mm x 5mm oval solid opal with a classic gold plated sterling silver setting. Solid opal is natural opal cut from a single piece of stone, not layered or backed with anything else. It is known for its play of colour, where flashes of colour shift and shimmer as the stone moves in the light.

Every opal we set in this style is hand-selected and unique, so the colours, pattern and brightness of your stone will differ from the one pictured. The photo shows the design of the pendant only.

The oval stone sits in a smooth, polished rim at the centre of a pointed oval frame. Fine ribbed detailing on each side of the stone adds a little texture to the gold plated sterling silver, and a bail at the top lets the pendant hang from a chain. This pendant comes from Umoona Opal Mine & Museum in Coober Pedy.
