These drop earrings each hold a small oval solid opal, 6mm x 4mm, set in a smooth bezel of gold plated sterling silver. A solid opal is cut from a single piece of natural opal, with no backing or cap, and is known for its play of colour: flashes of spectral colour that shift and move as the stone catches the light.

Every opal in this style is hand-selected at Umoona Opal Mine & Museum and is unique. The colours, pattern and brightness of your stones will differ from those in the photo, which shows the design of the earrings only.

The design is simple and elegant. A small round ball sits at the top of each earring, with a twisted rope-style bar hanging from it and a little loop joining the bar to the bezel-set oval stone. The bezel wraps the opal in a fine band of metal, and the long, slim drop gives the earrings a graceful movement when worn.
