Pair of drop earrings with two oval solid opals each (stone size 5mm x 3mm), set in sterling silver. Every opal is hand-selected, so colours and pattern differ from the photo.

These drop earrings pair a graceful open, heart-like teardrop frame with two bezel-set oval opals on each side. The stones sit side by side at a slight angle in the lower part of the frame, with the polished metal curving around them and leaving the centre open and light.

Each stone is a solid opal, meaning it is cut from a single piece of natural opal rather than built up from layers. Solid opal is loved for its play of colour, the shifting flashes of spectrum colour that move across the surface as the stone is turned in the light. Every opal is hand-selected and unique, so the colours, pattern and brightness of the opals you receive will differ from those in the photo.

The earrings are crafted in sterling silver with a high polish. Each frame hangs from a short straight bar, joined by small links that let it swing freely, and finishes at the top with a round ball stud. They come from Umoona Opal Mine & Museum in Coober Pedy, South Australia.
