These drop earrings pair a pair of oval solid opals with a flowing sterling silver setting. Each oval stone is set in a smooth bezel, with the metal wrapping the edge of the opal. The bezel sits inside an open, leaf-shaped frame of polished silver. The frame has a graceful twist at the top and leaves the space around the stone open. Each stone measures 8mm x 6mm.

Solid opal is cut from a single piece of natural opal, with no backing or cap added. It is known for its play of colour, where flashes of spectrum colour shift and shimmer as the stone moves in the light. Every opal in this style is hand-selected and unique, so the colours, pattern and brightness of the opals you receive will differ from those in the photo.

Each earring hangs from a polished, teardrop-shaped silver post top. A small link joins the post top to the frame, so the drop swings gently when you move. These earrings come from Umoona Opal Mine & Museum in Coober Pedy, South Australia.
