Solid opal drop earrings, sold as a pair, with 7mm x 5mm oval opals in teardrop frames of gold plated sterling silver. Each opal is hand-selected and unique.

These drop earrings pair a pair of oval solid opals, each measuring 7mm x 5mm, with a clean, simple gold plated sterling silver design. A solid opal is cut and polished from a single piece of natural opal, with no backing or cap, and is known for the shifting flashes of spectral colour, called play of colour, that move as the stone catches the light.

Every opal we set is hand-selected and unique, so the colours and pattern of your stones will differ from those in the photo. Each pair is chosen with care from our stock here at Umoona Opal Mine & Museum in Coober Pedy.

Each oval opal is bezel set in an open teardrop-shaped frame, which gives the stone a smooth, protected edge. The frame hangs from a slim straight bar that ends in a small polished ball stud top, so the earrings drop gracefully below the ear.
