Pair of doublet opal drop earrings with 7mm x 5mm oval bezel-set stones, in gold plated sterling silver with ball stud tops. Every opal is hand-selected and unique.

These slender drop earrings each carry an oval doublet opal (7mm x 5mm) that hangs at the end of a fine straight bar. A doublet is a thin slice of natural opal bonded to a backing layer, which gives a stone with the lively play of colour opal is loved for. As with any opal, that colour can flash and shift as the light changes and the earrings move.

Every opal is hand-selected, so each stone is unique. The colours, pattern and brightness of the opals you receive will differ from those in the photo.

The oval stones sit in smooth, simple bezel settings, where a thin rim of metal wraps around the edge of the opal. Small linked loops join each stone to its bar, and the bar to a round ball stud at the top. This lets the opal swing gently below the ear. The pieces are made in gold plated sterling silver, and they come from Umoona Opal Mine & Museum in Coober Pedy.
