These drop earrings pair a small oval doublet opal with a clean, open teardrop frame. Each stone sits snugly in a polished setting, and the tapered outline around it draws the eye down to the opal. Each stone measures 7mm x 5mm. The earrings are sold as a pair.

A doublet is a thin slice of natural opal bonded to a backing layer, which supports the delicate opal and can deepen the colour you see. Doublets are known for lively play of colour, the shifting flashes of spectral colour that move across the surface as the stone catches the light. A doublet is not a solid opal.
